It should not be difficult to pass a law or regulation saying government offices can not pay for an item, a price higher than the MRP.

The MRP display is as new as most of our modernised and insisted on statutory warnings where as the formalities to be observed are as old as the British rule.We are willing to pay First Class T A but we are stringy in the case of remuneration-the then British style. Are we to blame auditors only or all of us who do not speak loudly for a timely revision of these formalities? If there is this statutory display of MRP then why should there be three quotations? How is this MRP fixed?

No. The financial proprietary demands that the lowest quote is to be accepted and at least 3 quotes are required to be obtained, judged and then the item should be purchased. However, local taxes extra have to be paid.

Government servants will purchase anything in India for lesser price for their personal use. But for the official purpose they get the quotations from atleast three parties and choose the best rate according their commission rate. That is INDIA or Bharath Yours VRVRAO

No. They should adhere to the printed price. What the Government officers actually do is to get the price inflated and get it printed. This happens on bulk purchases. Benefit goes to the pocket of such Officers. Suppliers help them to do such mischief because they are able to sell their goods without effort.

noticed you left out the "S" in MSRP
Retailers are not bound by law to follow the manufacturers "suggestion"
Customers, government or otherwise, must pay the retailers price or go elsewhere.
