It took 2 nukes to end WW2. It killed lots of innocent people. But they were strategically dropped in areas of japan to take out the most intellegence/power etc.
By the looks of it, WW3 is not far and the middle east is probably going to be the fighting grounds.

Bush is looked at like satan in the middle east just like osama bin laden is satan to the good of the world. Who is right? Good is always right, but wait isnt this war about oil? is this war a cover up or are we really trying to help the Iraqi people. Its been 5 years of war and we havent found the terrorist leaders yet.
If the usa drops atomic bombs over iraq or afghanastan, will it start WW3 or will it end the war on terorism? It ended ww2.

History ALWAYS repeats itself. As stupid as it sounds your not far from the truth. Nuking them would help A LOT. But terrorist have protectors. They are called liberals and media.

You're dead wrong about Nagasaki and Hiroshima being important military targets.

And dead wrong about being on the verge of WW3. It's only George Bush and company who believe it even makes sense to stay in Iraq. Certainly the other developed/developing nations of the world are not prepared to jump into the fight, however if the US was stupid enough to go nuclear I'm sure there would be nations who would join the war (against the US).

If we were to nuke Iraq, what cities would we target (we're in the major cities)? And who exactly do we expect to step forward and surrender (we put the current government in place). Nukes are only an effective weapon when (1) the bomber has no stake in the place being bombed (2) the opponent has a stake in the place being bombed and (3) the opponent has the power to yield to the bombers demands.

You can bomb Japan because it is a piece of real estate. You can't bomb terrorism because it is an idea.

Sounds like you need to learn a little more about both history and nuclear targeting.

First, a decision to use nuclear weapons is as much a political as a military decision. If the bomb were dropped where would we drop it? In Pakistan? Pakistan is a country that is supposed to be on our side, but that's probably where Osama Bin Laden is. And Pakistan is also a nuclear power.

The Iraq war isn't about oil. Iraq happens to have a lot of oil, but it started because of a very bad regime in the country. If we were fighting for Iraq's oil we ought to be paying about half what we are paying for gas right now.

The terrorist leaders are good at hiding and we simply haven't been able to find them. They are also hiding among some people who have nothing to do with them.

If you can't kill an octopus by killing its brain you can cut off its arms and that essentially is what we are trying to do in Iraq and Afghanistan.

And--I assure you--if we do find the terrorist leaders (and we have found a few of them) we will take care of them in the most appropriate way.

Are you off-base! There are millions of Muslims throughout the world. There are more in Indonesia and Asia then there are in the Middle East. Drop an A-bomb on the Middle East and you will have every other Muslim targeting us. This can only bring about WW3 and possibly the downfall of the West. Life is not that simple and blindly killing will surely destroy America.

Do you have any idea about the long-term effects of a nuclear bomb? It would drift over borders and kill our allies with radiation, if not quickly, slowly, with years of birth defects, cancer, etc.
We could have stopped WW2 with regular bombs, too, but nukes were new and powerful and we sent a big message that even affected children that were not born yet whose parents lived in the vicinity. It left later generations with problems, too.
Also, look up the nuclear tests US govt. did on the Bikini Islands or for that matter in Nevada or Utah? People got cancer for years after those reportedly harmless tests.

Great in theory, but kills too many innocent people. The innocent dont choose to be or live there. Its kind of like asking if it's ok to drop a bomb on your neighbourhood because a couple of people there a few blocks from you are dodgy and may be terrorists. Your family etc and a few hundred other people would die, but that's ok because you'd kill a few bad guys right?

It ended World War Two because the US was the only one who had nukes. Today it would start a chain reaction and they would be flying all over the place.

-- Now if we dropped 100,000 pigs out of an airplane at 50 thousand feet, that may just have a demoralizing effect.

Japan surrendered because they already had all their cities flattened by conventional bombing and their military was already 80% destroyed.

The terrorists already have sympathisers (liberals) and family and friends in America, so any action against terrorists cause protests and demonstrations here. Imagine what would happen if a nuke was used over there.

They need to be targeted over Iran and the border of Pakistan to end this mess. But they won't do it.
