What does a "regular" blood test mean? I have never been to the doctor for a blood test that wasn't specifically testing for something like low iron or pregnancy. Are they testing for certain diseases? If they are and the treatments would be suspended if you were pg then they might check for that, but if you want to know then just ask them - they may not even be set up for that. They are doctors and are used to patient confidentiality, they won't think anything weird.

I dont think they'll pick it up as they'd need to test specifically for it, they'll simply test whatever u in for. The reason I think this is I too am pregnant and had to have blood tests for the pregnancy and they took about 7 little vials of it - presumably each for a different test.

If you took the blood test for a hormonal imbalance then yes, they'd pick up whether you're pregnant straight away by looking at your hormone's. Otherwise, no, they wouldn't be able to tell. Why would it matter if they find out? They wouldn't discuss it with anyone but you, even if you're under 16

No we don't understand. Why wouldn't you tell them? Your doctors need to know if you are pregnant. Regardless of your reasons you are being very irresponsible.
Not to mention, when you tell them the when your last period was, which all women have to do with every appointment...if you are late, it'll be the first thing they check for anyway! They need to know in case they need to prescribe you any meds.

No babe, they usually just test for whatever they are looking for, unless its a blood test for a whole check up in which case they might pick up on it x

typically, if you aren't looking for something, then you don't know it's there.
so, if they aren't testing you for pregnancy, then they won't know that you're pregnant.
however, some tests done by your OB may include a Preg test. like, if you are getting screened for STDs, then some dr order a Preg test, too.
i would just be honest with your DR and have them screen you for it...that way your mind will be at ease when you know for sure.

You need to tell the doctor if you think you are pregnant. The doctor cannot tell anyone else. If you are pregnant, you need to know and you need to get advice on how to take care of yourself, whatever you decide to do about it.

Ask them to test for it anyways. If you think that you might be pregnant it's best that they test to see if you are. But don't worry, everything is kept confidential.
