its an old Scooter but i cant find any 14volt batteries i was wondering if a 12volt battery would work? someone please help

The charge rate for a 12v battery is 14v. So if your charger states 14v then it is intended for a 12v battery.

never heard of anything running 14 volt,its all multiples of 6 (6, 12 and 24 on trucks) are you sure thats not just the charging rate for the battery? give us a bit more info on the wee beastie

That's odd, what type of scooter is it? Like cars and motorcycles, scooters are typical 12V, although its not unknown for the charging system to run a bit higher, and the manufacturer might prefer that, but it shouldn't be required.
