How soon is too soon to date after divorce? If you've been drifting apart from someone for years, decide to move on and feel excellent about doing it, it's very amicable and you're the happiest you've ever been with no regrets, is it fine to start seeing someone a couple of months later?

yes...i don't think there is any certain "time" period. It all depends on the person. It sounds like your relationship was really over way before the devorce....you know that...more then likely he knows that...and believe it or not family and friends do also. Follow your heart...it always leads you right. Good luck...and ow yeah by the way...i was in a four year relationship, and it ended about 8 months ago....i met another guy 2 MONTHS after...and we have been together for the last 6 months and i am EXTREMLY happy!! Hope my advice helps

Right after the divorce is over... your free. Its up to the individual as sometimes it is best to take a little time to yourself and not jump right back into it. Take a vacation by yourself.

You may feel fine but go see your local marriage councilor for an evaluation. You don't want to bring any baggage into a new relationship. It wouldn't be fair to the new person.

On the way out of the court building is fine. Not much wrong with on the way in either.
Who's permission do you actually need. It is your life, you have decided to end a marriage, you have parted amicably, do what you want.
