Of course not.
What's stopping people who are "under 7 feet" from playing, anyway?
You need to learn to play the game the way it's played, not expect the entire world to change the rules just to make it easier for you.

Some basketball experts believe the rim should be 12 feet high.
The argument for elevating the rim gained traction in the 1960s. Pete Newell, then the coach at California, put together a game with 12-foot rims in 1961.
“College basketball is in grave danger of sinking in a mire of boredom,” Pete Newell told Sports Illustrated in a 1967 cover story titled, “The Case for the 12-foot Basket.”
“Raising the basket might be a possibility someday in the NBA,” guest coach Jim Harrick said. “Players are bigger and stronger and faster than ever, and I don’t think they’ll ever change the size of the court ...
“This game, this experiment, will happen again.”

wouldnt lowering the basket make it even easier for ppl over 7 feet? The basket isnt that high at 10 feet. Ive been dunking for about a yr now and almost all the kids that r on the varsity team at my school can dunk. i was one of the last kids on the varsity team to be able to dunk at 16. im only 5'8" and was about an inch or 2 shorter when i threw one down for the 1st time.

No way! The basket has been at 10' since the beginnng. Why change now? Besides! How many current players are over 7' tall? The majority are under 7'. So what's your point?

NO! You raise the basket to get that stupid dunking out of the game. That would allow smaller people to play because then everyone would have to be able to shoot. Half the current NBA can't make a jump-shot to save their lives!

My waste basket is at 2 feet and I still miss more shots than I make ! It won't help some of us...ha-ha.
Maybe a league for 6 feet and under would be a better choice.

no its better 2 keep it da same becuz all nba players are used to the hoop bein 10 feet if its changed they wont get used 2 the way they used 2 play for example all nba players have to shoot the ball lighter becuz the rim is shortened and our fave nba playas would probably air ball or miss badly

Only in kids' leagues so that they can shoot with proper form. By the time kids are 11, they should be on a regulation-height rim.
