Only sheep produce wool. The other fibers that are used to make sweaters, rugs, blankets, etc are not wool. But, many other fibers besides wool can be used including
alpaca, cashmere, angora are all commonly used. Less commonly used are camel, vicuna, yak, llama.
Keep in mind that typical spinners want a long weave for the fibre so that it's easier to work with. However, many hand spinners who are talented can use shorter fibers and make fabric out of items not commonly used by commercial producers such as dog hair (yes, dog hair!) which is very warm .
