Ok, i have this red and white checkered trolley bag, it looks o-k, but it needs something to make it look fabulous or at least reasonably good looking to use for college. Any ideas? how would you spruce it up in a good way, no crappy emos telling me to stick a hundred badges on it and iron on patches please.

At the moment it just looks like it was knicked from an old lady.

there is also a little hole in the bag near the bottom, how could i disguise it or cover it up without it looking too random?

Would you be happy with badges like they are used on jeans? Or leather patches?
If so, you can use those, like covering the checks in one colour, or rather random.
One leather patch can close (or cover the duct-tape you use to close) the hole.

An other idea is sticking stickers all over, so many you can not see the bag anymore, like they used to do when people still used boats.

Or you can decorate it in the same way as you would the bag you would take to your last school or the one you take when going out for the night.
If the current colour is very annoying you can sew a bag that is slightly bigger from cheap fabric, and decorate that. Put the trolley bag in the cheap bag and re-attach it to the trolley. Since the colour and design will be your choice you might be more pleased and find it easier to decorate.
