There is no one best healthy food. A good balance of foods is the healthiest. Fruits, veggies, and meat all provide different nutrition, and are all improtant. The link below is to the wholesome baby web page. I like this one because it is not run by a commercial baby food chain, and gives good details on what and how much of what to give baby. Finger foods are much fun at this age, but be ready for a mess. Have fun!

Your Baby needs to avoid too much salt (very important), but apart from that they can eat pretty much anything.

They need a good mix of fruit, vegetables, fat (it's very important), proteins, carbohydrates and vitamins.

A lot of the off the shelf meals provide these in balanced levels, but if you prefer to make your own try things like shepherds pie or lasagne - they both have a very good mix of all the things the little one needs.

Breast milk.

Followed by fresh organic vegetables, cooked or raw.

-squash
-potatoes
-carrots
-beans
-parsnips

Followed by fresh organic fruits, raw or cooked

-banana
-pears (raw for sure)
-apples
-mangoe
-plums *without pits*

-avacado (great for adding on pounds to a thin bub)

Have fun and experiment, rice cereals are popular, although for sure aren't the healthiest.
