I've lived in my mobile home for a little over 2 years. It's in a mobile home park, and my kids have made lots of friends, that they play with pretty much daily. (they're 9 and 11, so I let them outside in the small private park by themselves with their friends). Anyway... when we moved in, we planned on being here five years at the most, then buying a house. I was THRILLED to find out we would be able to get a house now. :) But for some reason, now that moving day is tomorrow, I feel a kind of sadness. I have no idea why. Is this normal? I think I just feel bad for my kids, since where we are moving, they will only have the back yard to play in, and won't have friends around all the time. Am I going Crazy? :( Please help! LOL!!

I think it is normal because you are looking out for your kids, but still had a comfortable environment where you didn't have to worry about them as much. I am sure after a little while of living in this new house, you'll find that with a little work with the backyard, hopefully the kids getting along better, and as time goes by,you'll feel better. I think any amount of time living somewhere you'll feel that way, just because of the time you spent there and because of the memories.

Its almost like leaving your own family. These people around you have helped you raise your kids and now you're going to be moving into a place with strangers. You don't know how safe you and your kids are gonna be and there is a helluvallot of adjusting going on. You will find new friends and the kids will be fine. Kids bounce back faster than adults anyway. Good luck in your new home and a new beginning

what ur feeling is normal , planning on staying in the mobile home wasnt something you had thought about but it has become home for you and your kids , there are memories there ! i think once you get in ur new home you will all adjust quickly , for the kids just do something to keep them occupied , buy them a puppy ! you have a back yard now it will be their own private playground , im sure there will be friends around for them and they will find them quickly , as for yourself you will miss the old place for a bit but you will be busy setting your new home up and will also most likely meet friends in the neighborhood also , just relax things will become comfortable for you and the kids sooner than you think

I was told a few days ago our landlord won't be renewing our lease and we have to move.
I also felt sad.
Think about a new start, fresh house, being able to move the furniture around. The old tap that dribbled constantly or creaky door won't bother you anymore.
I'm sure your kids will make new friends - and have even more friends than before!

Kids adjust and you will too. Everyone has feelings about changes in their life. Sometimes they are sad feelings, and other times they are good feelings.
