Nope, exactly - tell me about it - annoying or what??!!!!
But as pc users (if this applies) you are by health and safety laws entitled to a 10 minute break every hour.....But can I say that this is not quite the same. Smokers do have more breaks - and this should be deducted from their lunch time, when they wander out of the building for around 10 minutes 4 times a day well it's a joke!!!!

Everyone that works an 8 hour shift is entitled to a 30 minute break for lunch.

Smokers tend to take more breaks and longer breaks and they don't get in trouble for extending their breaks, whereas us non-smokers can sit at a break for too long and get yelled at.

Weird, ain't it? lol

Take Care

whatever *** breaks are, if you mean at work, i think everyone should get the same amount of breaks. i have worked with those people who thought they could sneak out and have extra breaks or longer breaks to smoke. well, they should have been written up for that. its not fair and not right. just because we non smokers dont want to kill ourselves doesnt mean we should be treated differently. they should abide by the rules with the rest of us.
whether you call it smoke break, coffee break, whatever, let's be fair people.
some jobs let you keep a beverage with you while you work, so for those coffee drinkers, consider that.
i dont mean to be rude to anyone, its just that i was fired for supposedly taking a longer break and taking a nap on my lunch breaks, (i worked graves) and though i dont deny the naps, i was not the one taking longer breaks. my superiors did that and i was the one who got the wrong end of the deal. so i just dont think it is fair. I was fired unjustly. (dont trust walmart in deming, nm.)

You should probably ask your employer, laws may differ, but generally,an employer who allows for smoke breaks should not object to non-smokers taking the occasional brief break during the day...

At work we all have the same breaks, but its up to you to decide what you want to do with that break. I tend to eat and play pool, others go outside to smoke.
There is no '*** break', anybody going outside for a crafty extra smoke is very quickly pt in their place.

So long as people use their allocated break/lunch time to go out as smoke then i dont mind..
If you want to go outside 6 times a day at 10 minutes a pop.. dont have your hour lunch!

What pisses me off is when they go out 4, 5, 6 times a day, take 10 minutes to smoke their killing sticks, then go for an hour at lunch aswell....

if you wanna smoke fine.... but do it on your own time!

The sad thing is that you, as an American, have the right to DO something, but you don't have the right to NOT do something. By that I mean that people have the right to take a break to go outside and smoke, but people don't have a right to go outside and NOT smoke.

Sad right?

Technically speaking busineeses do not have to give smoke breaks and taking them reduces your job security.
