My son is in a summer reading program and needs to read some biographies...is not his favorite subject and would like to find some that would make him more interested in reading (or at least finish the book).

Is he into sports? Matt Christopher has written many biographies of famous athletes. He has an entire series of ones he wrote about baseball stars. They all go for around $4.99 each: If he likes baseball, then there's "At the Plate With Ken Griffey Jr.". It's at Amazon at $4.99. Here's a link: http://www.amazon.com/Ken-Griffey-Christopher-Sports-Biographies/dp/0316142336/ref=sr_1_1/105-8950801-9756421?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1184280193&sr=1-1

If you scroll down the page you'll see many other biographies he's written about other baseball stars.

Good luck and happy reading! :-)

Napoleon & the Napoleonic Wars, by Albert Marrin
The Wright Brothers: how they invented the airplane, by Russell Freedman
Ordinary Genius, (about Einstein)
Eleanor Roosevelt, A life of Discovery, by Russell Freedman
Behind Rebel Lines, by Seymour Reit (a Civil War spy, a woman who joined the army disguised as a man, true story)
Phineas Gage; a gruesome but true story about brain science, by John Fleischman
These are all written for kids and/or young adults. And they are all good.

The most popular choice is the Diary of Anne Frank, but it's mostly for girls.

You could always try biographies of war lords or walt disney, that should interest a boy. Try the boigraphy section in the local bookstores.

HOPE THAT HELPS!
