1-9 are significant = 1289 has 4 significant figures
zeros on the right side of the decimal point are significant = 97.00 has 4 also
zeros on the left side are not =0.0012 has only 2 (the 1 n 2)
zeros that are sandwiched in bet. 2 nonzero digits are significant = 2006 has 4

*to show that a zero is significant, put a bar on top of it = 20660 (for the zero after 6 to be significant put a bar on top of it)

The number of significant digits in your answer should be equal to the smallest number of significant digits in your input data. You should not round your intermediate answers, though, only the final answer.
