I have worked at a major waterpark and go barefoot all the time. If there is a potential problem with hot pavement then you may want to carry flip flops, but be advised that most water parks will not let you wear shoes on the rides due to the hazard of the shoe gripping the surface of the ride while you are traveling fast. As for diseases, the chemicals in the water at most parks are two to four times the amount recommended by medical professionals so the chances of getting bad germs is no more dangerous than getting the germs anywhere else on your body via riding the rides. I go barefoot all the time while at work in my park and have never had anything but great fun doing so

I think I may have, can't remember... but it's one of those places I would've gone barefoot even before I was a regular barefooter -after all, as soon as you get inside you take off your shoes anyhow & go around in a bathingsuit only. I haven't been to a water park since I became a regular barefooter ten years ago.

It's been a while since I went to a water park, but when I did, I went barefoot. It is something I would definitely reconsider now though. I make my children wear water shoes when they go in.

YES!!! but in order to get into the park you must have shoes on. My bro and i went to Water Country in Williamsburg two summers ago and we decided to do that since we would have to take our shoes off at each ride anyway. but by the end of the day our feet hurt so badly from the concrete and it being so hot that day. But would i do it again ABSOLUTELY!!! it saves a lot of time. IF you do wear your shoes all day then i would suggest either water shoes which you could probably leave on or flip flops which can be easily removed.

Yes, but now I train my soles with several minutes of walking on asphalt, using as little shade as possible, before considering the water park. The parking lot is actually easier. More intense burning, but a shorter distance. Water parks with more unshaded tan pool decks are expanded sole burning areas. Unless they have water on them, heat tolerant soles are necessary to be able to walk normally without significant difficulty (all the soles will be more than just slightly burning).

Yup. Almost every time we go, we all go barefooted. It got really hot one time so we wore flip flops as we walked from slide to slide.
