I would recommend calling your dr to check with them to see if this is going to be ok. As for whether it works or not I don't know, I've never tried it.

As for yogurt you can try checking for plain yogurt at the local supermarket to see if that helps, but it works better if you eat it.

But this does need to be evaluated by a dr. Because of not having money right now try checking with the city health dept to see if they offer a free clinic that might be able to help you figure out if this is for sure a yeast infection.

I don't know about garlic but if you're going to be spending money on garlic or yogurt, just use it on some over the counter meds. They cost about the same.

The only reason they suggest yogurt is because yogurt contains lactobacillus which is a bacteria that lives in your vagina. Yeast also lives in your vagina and when the lactobacillus is killed by the yeast, you get the thrush or a yeast infection. When you eat yogurt, the bacteria helps keep your vagina heatlhy by balancing out the bacteria. If you've already got a yeast infection, yogurt isn't going to do much good. Try some vagistat or something in the meds section of the store. It's cheaper than a visit to the doc.

As long as the yogurt has accidopholis and bifidus in it it should be fine. Just put a little on a pad or a liner. Ask your Dr. if they have any trial packs of thrush creams or now they have tablets you can use instead of cream. You don't have to have a prescription to buy the cream you can get it over the counter. If there is a free womens' health clinic in your area they might even give you some. It depends on where you live in the world.
Hope this helps!!

Another natural remedy that does work is vinegar. Fungus does not like the acidity. You need to dilute it 1:4 vinegar:water. After showering of an evening, soak a flannel in the mixture and apply.
