My 14 year old son is leaving in 2 days to visit his cousin for a week. He was looking foward to going, and she called a week ago to ask if he is coming to visit. He goes every 6 monthes.

His cousin is 28, and the last time he went to visit her, I found out everynight he ran from his bed, to HER bed and slept there. This happened every night.
This is his only cousin, her name is Lauren German and is a actress and played rolls in a few small films, She said she didn't mind they were only having fun.

I do know they have a good bond together and I know they do alot in 1 week. My son has no other siblings.

How Do I prevent this from happening again? Or Should I not care? I know she doesn't mind and I know for sure he will do it again.

I asked this in other sections, to see if they compare.

I talked to my niece, she said she has no problems and he leaps into her bed, and he talks a little and falls asleep right away.

I am not taking this very hard, since my son has no other siblings and she is the only one he likes to spend time with.

I even talked to my son, and he just says shes a part of family.

Another thing my niece says is, she considers eachother friends, and keeping eachother company.

Both of them have no problem with it.

and I know for sure, if I told her to put a lock on the door, I know for sure she would not do that, she would think thats way too mean.

It is illegal. explain to him why he can't go sleep in her bed, and then say it is up to him wether he carries it on or not. I dont think it is going to harm him or her, and it does sound like it is jsut a sleepover type thing, so i wouldn't worry, it doesnyt sound as if it id going to come to anything

Even if there is nothing "Inappropriate" happening, this is weird and wrong. They may be very close as cousins or siblings, but that is still wrong! As a general rule, a 14 year old boy and 28 year old woman DO NOT sleep even in the same room, let alone bed. This needs to stop. Do not let him visit until it does.

I would tell his cousin that I was concerned about it. I would put it more on him when talking to her so she doesn't get offended. I would say something like, you think your son needs to not sleep in the same bed with a girl now that he is getting much older and sexually mature and that it may be too tempting for him. Ask her to tell him no and lock her door. In some respects I might not worry, but if no one else is there and without knowing them personally, I don't know what is happening. You might also want to mention that he is a minor and even if they aren't doing anything she could get in trouble with the law. You may also want to talk to your sister (sister in law) about it.

That seems pretty normal considering he's an only child and only connects with her. It's nothing sexual...he just loves her like a sister and wants to spend more time with her since he doesn't see her all the time (like everyday with siblings growing up). He's just looking for someone that he can look up to for guidance besides the parental units. He probably thinks she's super cool and admires that.

Well, there is a saying in the South..."Cousins are for practice." Sounds to me like the weird-ism is on the part of the 28 yo, 14 yr boys don't have a lot of sense, I know since I once was one.

Flip it around. What would be your reaction if your 14 year-old daughter was sleeping in bed with her 28 year-old male cousin? Whatever the action taken would be, apply it here.

Just tell him and her that you think that he has gotten too old to be sleeping in her bed. Ask that she make sure that he spends his nights sleeping separate from her. Tell both of them that if she does not respect your wishes, he will not be able to visit again.

My 14 yrs old son would NOT be going to someone's house in this particular situation.
He would not be sleeping with his cousin, or anyone else!
