I was just thinking, Alaska and Hawaii were the last two U.S. territories to become states, and there's been lots of talk but no consensus on making Puerto Rico a state. What have been the past few places to become U.S. territories, and the dates they became territories?

I would think Alaska and Hawaii, but someone could technically say US embassy in Iraq since embassies are considered US soil. That's if we didn't have US embassy in Iraq under Saddam. US naval base at Guantanamo Bay is leased by the US. I don't know if leasing is same as being our territory.
