Moral decay is partly to blame on Clinton paying poor people to have children out of wedlock by greatly expanding the Earned Income Tax Credit. Thanks to Clinton, poor single parent households now get a several thousand dollars check (up to $4,400) in the mail each year. Fact. And that is bad for America.
Thanks to Clinton, there has a been a double digit increase in the amount spent on welfare funding for single family households.
"three quarters of this aid flows to single parent families.Children raised without a father in the home are more likely to experience: emotional and behavioral problems, school failure; drug and alcohol abuse, crime, and incarceration. The beneficial effects of marriage on individuals and society are beyond reasonable dispute, and there is a broad and growing consensus that government policy should promote rather than discourage healthy marriage." http://www.heritage.org/Research/Welfare/tst021005a.cfm

I dont see that as the case though. Most of the folks I know you would consider liberals and all but one support the work being done in afghanistan as well as iraq round one. They, all but myself, also supported the invasion of iraq itself. Having said that however, even you must admit that our current administration had no plan after the invasion was complete.
Furthermore, anytime during this iraq debacle that a general (whom I would think knows more of war than a sort of national guardsmen) has thought other than what bush thought he was fired transferred or otherwise replaced.

I don't think most people who are against the Iraqi
War are against all wars. Practically everyone was interested in going into Afghanistan after 9/11 but there was no point to Iraq. We had Saddam Hussein fully contained and he had backed down and let the UN inspectors back in to avoid the invasion. We had our foot on his neck and he had his foot on the religious extremists in his country. What someone above said about Clinton was wrong. During Clinton's presidency welfare was
limited to 3 years for women with children and they had to attend employment training.

When it is brought to your very own country and the land where you live and call your country, yes war is the only natural course. None of us want to be attacked by another nation. This is what I find so appalling about American attitudes. Just stop and think for a second how you would like another country moving in, telling us what to do and when we can do it, and basically running our lives under military rule. That is what we do to others.

Not anywhere near as much as the extremists and trolls who blindly follow their party's beliefs without any real thought. Then take to debates bashing any opposition to their platforms, with ignorant rhetoric and one-sided insults. You are part of the reason why people do not take politics seriously. You are part of the reason why people have a difficult time finding a decent place to have a civilized debate. You are also part of the problem why people cannot find a common ground and will cling to their "partisan" beliefs even if it is harming themselves and everyone else.

The problem occurs when we are going to war with the people holding the weapons we supplied them.

Those of us who openly decry the war are inadvertently the same ones who if they were in power, would ensure the demise of our country - and they aren't even aware of it.
Lessons are lost upon them and memories are short, while monkey see, monkey do seems to stick. Simplistic people, simplistic minds.
