I don't know much about computers and I want to upgrade if I can. How can I get my computer to burn DVD's? I use Windows Media Player 10 to burn my CD's.

Easy, just install a DVD writer. What you have is just a CD writer. It can only read but NEVER burn DVDs.

You have a DVD reader + CD Reader/Writer. This is apparent from the configuration that you have taken care to put up for us. Your drive can burn CD but not DVDs. There is no way to get it to burn DVD because its not capable of doing so.

You need to buy and install a DVD RW. Ask for a DVD writer and get the one that offers most supported formats. Your vendor will help you with that. The price difference is small and is a worthwhile investment.

You don't need to discard your current DVD CDRW. Although the DVD RW you will purchase can also burn CDs. You can keep both as you will find it easier to copy for example one DVD directly to your Writable DVD without copying it to Hard Disk.
