It is very simple. Just click the Star Button below the question, an yellow color star will appear. This is starring. Star is generally given whenever you like the question which you think really useful and educative. You may or many not answer the question. If you had given a star wrongly or want to remove the star given just click again, now on the Yellow star and it will go off.

I assume you mean star. Underneath a question there is a task bar( lack of better word) and on that you will see a star, just click on the star to star the question.

To give star to a question you have to click on star button just below the question.
I tried it first time with your question and was successful.

When you open a question, below the ANSWER THIS QUESTION tab, you would find a star symbol, a flag symbol, message symbol,a nd a plus sign.
Click on the star symbol and the question which you have opened, will be starred.
