Here's a random scenario for an easy two points: My 22 year old cousin is on probation, and my aunt is afraid that if I have a boyfriend he will put his foot down on me financially supporting my cousin who's only fifteen months younger than me. However, she let my cousin have a girlfriend who sleeps with the cousin on my aunt's sofa. Then she let's my 19 year old cousin have a boyfriend who sleeps with that cousin in the cousin's bed. This is all in one house. Yet, she don't want me to have a boyfriend and don't want me to have sex if she doesn't have sex. I support them all financially because they throw up in my face that I'm from the wealthier side of the family.

What is your opinion? Seriously or humorously, what should I do or say? :-)

shes afraid that if you get a bf and fall in love, you will get married and move out. since you are supporting them and have moved out, she is afraid you will "forget" about them and use your money for things with your new man. this will force them to become financially dependent on themselves. She is afraid that she will have to support them with her money.

they are old enough to get a job and help support the family. i understand that your cousin is on probation and cant work, but the other family members can pitch in and help. they shouldnt leave all of the financial responsibility to you. they are family to your cousin just like you are.

Easier said then done to just "move out" .. maybe you should just do as you please, and if your aunt doesn't like it... well that's her problem...

Assuming you're an adult here, as an adult you will find that not everything you do with your life will be approved by your family and friends. But it's your life, and you have to live it to be happy... your aunt has probably been on this earth longer then you have.. she probably doesn't ask anyones permission to do her own thing...

The hardest part about growing up and being an adult is realizing that you aren't put here to make others happy. Only you.

Too many cousins sleeping together. IF it was my house I wouldn't let any of them in my house and why are you paying for them? They are adults and they are having sex. So it seems they have the ability to get a job doing something. If you are 18 you need to start planning on saving your money up for your own place to make your own rules.

I would date my aunt so she wouldn't object, then support my boyfriend financially.
