To find out if someone has HIV it has to be done thru a blood test. For HPV they can find it thru a pap smear.

blood test /assay is still the main mode for definitive confirmation although combinations of blood, oral, and urine-based is being used for pre-screening. i don't believe you can confirm hiv status via pap smear although many hiv-positive women present with abnormal pap smears...accordingly, they're advised to get pap smears around every 6mths.

no you have to have your blood drawn. A hiv test is done though blood test. You have to sign to get an hiv test. the doc can't just do one.

you always ask for it though a test sure it might be embarrassing but hey at least you know you did they have this thing now called quick testing and its done under 20 minutes now or go to http://www.mtv.com/thinkmtv/sexual_health/ and check that out on info for you
