I get a kick out of this question. For me, the "meaning" of life is merely that defined in a dictionary. Or as Carlin would say, "undead". Why must life have "meaning'? Why can't we move beyond having to justify our being here. Why am I here? My parents had sex. What is my purpose? To eventually die. What does it mean? No a dang thing. Mind you, I'm probably among a small group that think this way and I've actually been pitied for thinking this way, but to my way of thinking, its just as sad to me that people waste their "undead" time pondering the meaning of life.

The meaning of life: To feel that I have a purpose here on earth through contrubution to the rest of society. This could be a stay at home mom or dad who takes care of their children and teaches them manners and morals so when they enter adulthood they will be good functionining citizens.
My contrubution could be the career I choose. Volunteer work to make others happy.
My contrubution could be big or small but what matters is that I am satisfied with my life.
The meaning of life is to take risks that may lead to failure or success and to realize the only way to succeed is to try and accept any failure as lesson learned and to never give up.
The meaning of life is also to make others smile even if it is in the simplest form. Such as, holding the door for someone and smile as we do this. Letting the car out of the parking lot when we are sitting at a red light anyways.
The meaning of life is to listen to others when they are down. Sometimes all they need is an ear and a shoulder.
Making commets such as you have a beautiful child.
The meaning of life is to enjoy what we have and not dwendle on the stuff we don't have. Most of it is material anyways.
And most of all The meaning of life is to love ourselves and let others know that they are loved.

Meaning comes from living for a purpose for which we were created. The very question presupposes a Creator.
“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (noted 20th century philosopher, mathematician and atheist)
If we accept that we could be created beings, then it makes sense to seek our Creator. Our great human need for meaning should point us to seek God even though we're not sure God even exists.
If we're going to reject God, then we should fully realize that all life is meaningless, pointless and without purpose. But we simply can't stand the idea that we are meaningless. It would drive us to suicide or insanity. So we invent some fictional reason for living that make us feel good about ourselves and pretend that is why we're here. One invented reason for living is "leave the world a lot better than you found it ". It sounds good and I'm sure makes the speaker feel good but without a Creator, it has no meaning other than the feelings it imparts.

I feel the meaning of my life is as an expression of God. I believe the creative power of God is expressed in part through the actions of all people. I am a little piece of the larger expression of all things.
I've got the free will to express that as I see fit, but the totality of my actions express the power of God. It's interesting to see how each one of us choose to express that individually and also how the "whole" of humanity is expressing our Godliness.

The meaning of life can be found with cats. And after them, with the trees.

I think the meaning of life is within ourselves
Once we stop pretending who we are
and we find out who we really are
then we will see what we need to do to give our life more meaning.
