OK, i have a Dell Dimension E520, it has 1 GB RAM, i want more RAM but i dont want to buy more from Dell because their RAM sucks and it is way overpriced. I want to know if i can keep the old RAM in the system and buy another GB of Crucial Ballistix, will it cause any problems? That way i will have 2 GB of RAM.....

Thanks

Dell does not use Crucial Ballistix, not even close. Anyway yes you can mix them, however if they are different speeds the Crucial RAM will slow down to the speed of the Dell RAM. I would personally just get 2GB of Crucial RAM and chuck the Dell RAM, but if you want to mix them it will work.

So long as the speed and type is the same you can mix brands. Who knows, Dell may use Crucial Ballistix with their name on it.
