She doesn't know what she have until everything gone. Most married or unmarried couple have their moments want to be single again. But having a thought and actually want to do it is other matter. If she is in crissis, her husband should know it so that they can get through that rough patches. Love is not only just a word. The act is what's count.
Regarding Ms Chocsondik comment above - don't compare an affair with chocolate, you eat any chocolate as much as you want at any time you want, you won't hurt anybody (only yourself perhaps). You having an affair, you will hurt all your family and perhaps other family as well. And perhaps ruin the life of the ones you say you love.

There is obviously no excitement in her life and she is bored. The poor girl doesn't realise that by having an affair she is risking her, her children's and her husband's future happiness just for a bit of extra marital passion. I have seen this happen to friends of mine and it brings nothing but misery and recriminations We invite them to our soirees etc but we can all see that things will never be the same again. They still love each other but neither of them can see beyond what has happened.
Your friend must wake up and see that a short lived romance could spell the end of her contented (and priveliged) marriage.

Some people don't realize just how good they have it and take it for granted. Then they lose it and can't figure out what went wrong. I don't think that she is blissfully married if she is looking outside of the marriage. As her friend, please talk to her about the consequences of the actions she is thinking about taking. Losing her family, the respect of those who know her, and countless other things will gone for a fling.

She loves her husband, but is not in love with him. She wants to feel unbridled passion which she apparently is not getting, Troubles are one thing, but if the spark is gone and the sexual chemistry have gone south, that is why she wants an affair. She is not necessarily looking for love. She wants to be wanted in a way in where she can celebrate her sexuality.

You really never know what happens behind closed doors. She probably needs some excitement and her hubby ain't giving to her. A friend of mine went thru the same thing and let me tell you in public they LOOKED like a very happy couple but at home he had his life, she had hers. If she wanted to go out her husband would just say "don't be home so late" so you really never know...

She needs to discuss their desire of hers with her husband. Don't hide that you're lacking something in the marriage. He wants to know if there's something missing. Don't destroy your marriage; an affair is never worth it.
It's not normal to feel like this in a marriage. A marriage needs work and isn't always a fairy tale. You'll get over this "need," just get that idea of an affair out of your head.

If she looking for something more she's not that happy, regardless of what she says. Sometimes the physical side can cool off especially afer having kids, with all that responsibiity, she may feel unattractive so looks for a new outlet. Or she's just plain greedy, something about have your cake and eat it.....
