Okay, Widdle, Any Heroes, Dead or Alive, Sheesh. and yes, Jesus is generally considered to be a religious figure but He also preached brotherhood and helping the poor, etc. etc which some might consider a political message. Whatever. I've seen people on answers saying Jesus no matter whether you ask them for political or religious heroes. I just want to keep Him out of this loop.

Erin Brockovich is certainly a unique and unusual choice, Lady Zania. Can you tell us a little bit about the reasons why she is a political heroine of yours.

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Hugo L. Black (born 1886; appointed to the Court 1937; retired and died 1971).
The rare example of a "liberal" SC Justice who interpretted the Constitution with the right amount of "judicial restraint."
"Justice Black came to have significantly more respect for the limits of the Constitution than Justice Douglas and the other leading members of the Warren majorities ever showed." -- Robert Bork, "The Tempting of America," p. 72.
"No justice of the Court conscientiously and persistently endeavored, as much as Justice Black did, to establish consistent standards of objectivity for adjudicating constitutional questions." -- James J. Magee, "Mr. Justice Black: Absolutism on the Court," p. 194.

Ronald Reagan for ending the cold war
Margaret Thatcher for ending the cold war
Brian Mulroney for ending the cold war
Pope John Paul II ending the cold war
Thomas Jefferson for inventing the philosophy of the United States
I place a lot of emphasis on the Cold War; there may be more important events but the Cold War personally affected me so my heroes are stacked towards that issue

G. Gordon Liddy- he did his job with professionalism and character, even if it was a criminal act. The president asked for his help and he helped. That is a political hero.
Richard M. Nixon- the man was a master politician and statesman. He helped end a situation of being uneasy with China in a way that none before or after have accomplished.
Caesar- do I need to explain this one too?

Gerald Ford, he had the wisdom to pardon Nixon for what he had done even though he new it would be devastating to his own career. The political action of impeachment and conviction of a former president would have been a worse mark on American history than what Nixon did to embarrass us in the first place.
Ronald Reagan for his persistance in getting the relations we have today with the Soviet Union countries started.

I am wonder how in the heck Jesus, would be a political hero. I thought he was religious.
My husband ain't know Politician. If he were, I wouldn't be here on the net. I would be partyin it up on taxpayers money. I would eat out everynight again on taxpayers money.
I know males are filling up the political office and the female are almost non existant. Poor Hillary. As for Deceased or Living? Don't the political heroes lack a heart?
Therefore, if they lacked a heart then how would we classify them? ARE they deceased?
They didn't actually fall DEAD so they can't be deceased.
I never see any at the local grocery store. I never see them at a kids club picking up there children. I never see a politician at the public school picking up their children. It is difficult for me to asses whether they are living. Cause when someone dies you don't see them but you keep expecting to see them.
So, What did you ask again? :)
