Vacations differ for so many.... Some like fun filled days and nights, some want peace and quiet, some want water, some want mountains.
The Great Smoky Mountains in Tenn. offer all of the above and is a refreshing change of pace.
You can take in Dollywood/Splash Country or Ripley's Aquarium for some fun, hiking, shopping, dinner shows, Cherokee Indian Reservation and the list could go on....
You can go tubing down one of the many quiet rivers, picnic by a waterfall or be brave and try the whitewater rapids. Take in all the breathtaking scenes of the Parkway, Cades Cove and the many motor trails for mountain views you can only dream about.
We loved it so much there when we vacationed we bought a little piece of it to enjoy year round. Yep, come take a look at our peaceful cabin with a mountain view. This is no longer a “what if” question with me. I am currently living in Vietnam and loving every minute of it. I went around the world and after looking at 18 different countries this is my choice.
Vietnam is the new place to go. The country is absolutely beautiful. With miles of white sand beach's, Cool mountain hideaways, Great city night life and cozy country inn's. Its very inexpensive. You can get nice hotel rooms for $10 and beer is 15 cents a glass. The people are wonderful. I have traveled just about everywhere and I ended up buying a home here because I like it so much. Flights from almost any where are around $1000 USD. You more than make up the difference with the inexpensive lodging etc. Also, you are close to Thailand, Cambodia , (Angkor Wat) Lao, Hong Kong, A ticket to Kuala Lumpur is about $50, Lots to do and plenty to see. Check it out.
You will never regret it if you come to Vietnam. great food, amazingly wonderful people. We stopped our bikes at the end of the road by the river the other day. Out in the middle of no where. In minutes we were surrounded by kids saying "hello, Where you from?" the mothers came out a few minutes later and they are bringing out food and laughing. A few minutes later the men came out bringing the rice wine. We had a full on party going and didn't understand much of what was going on. But... we knew that they were really friendly and they treated us like Rock Stars. Just amazing. Don't miss Vietnam. It will be your best trip ever. I promise.

Yellowstone National Park. We stayed down in Jackson Hole and the Grand Tetons then went up to YNP for a few days and loved it. The weather was great when we were there. There is so much to do. We went horseback riding and also did some hiking and explored the grand canyon of the Yellowstone. There are so many geysers and hot springs to see and each one is different and cool to see. The scenery is magical, as you are surrounded by green river valleys and snow capped mountains. The wildlife is also amazing. Wolves, bears, bison, elk, moose, and everything in between. I Can't wait to go back, its such an awesome place everyone needs to go

Bali (Indonesia) was a surprisingly wonderful and inexpensive destination for us. It's exotic, beautiful, and safe (despite recent bombings on the western coast).
If you'd like to stay closer to home, the National Parks are wonderful and inexpensive. Our favorite is Yellowstone because it's so big and there are so many different things to do there, followed by the Grand Canyon. You can camp if you're up to it, get a discount room, or go glam in some of the more upscale lodges.
