i know this doest answer most of your queations but i found en excerpt

In the song, Annie Oakley sings about how a girl with talent as a sharpshooter nevertheless finds that her abilities don't help her attract men. The song is humorous in that Annie imagines different scenarios in which shooting a man won't make him fall in love with you. "A man may be hot/but he's not/when he's shot/oh, you can't get a man with a gun!"

Haven't you ever seen the movie, it's not a difficult subject. One of the only Doris Day movies I can stand.
