I have a tree in my front yard that took some damage near the main trunk due to cicadas a couple of summers ago, and has now grown out over the roof of my house and is rubbing the shingles and fireplace. I need to find someone to trim it back for me, but what is the best way to pick a reliable company to do this work for me? How do I go about finding the right company to do the job with the least risk to my house and tree?

Cicadas feed off of the plans and trees, and tend to kill off the smaller branches. Most of the damage is dead smaller branches in the inner part of the tree, causing it to grow outward instead of continuing to grow the existing branches. I have been told that trimming back the outer ends of the branches will cause the inside of the tree to revive, but I know very little about trees myself.
