Unemployment pays about 2/3 of the average of your pay for the last 6 months.

I suppose it depends on the type of work that you are doing, but I really don't think the boss is the one to make that decision for you (unless the job involves manual labor and he's trying to avoid liability for an injury).

I'd give an attorney a call for a free consultation because I really don't think that pregnancy is a valid reason to terminate employment. Unless you are employed "at will", meaning the boss can fire you any time for any reason.

i dont know what kind of job u have but most employers cant let u go because ur pregnant. unless its like mcd's or something and in that case ur not gonna get 70%. if everyone got that much everyone would be on unemployment. its half of what u made.

You probably will not get unemployment if your pregnant. They expect you to be able to go and get work. If you can't your not eligible for unemployment benefits.

Where do you work? Most states in the U.S. will not allow employers to fire you because of a pregnancy. You should have maternity leave. I think you can get disability for it, but not unemployment. I suggest you talk to your director of human resources.

wow you truly are heartless. You are risking the well-being of your child because you won't let go of a few dollars? If you couldn't afford it, why did you do it? If your child has health complications due to you not being careful in pregnancy, I hope it follows you to your grave. Your boss cares more about the child than you do.
