Microsoft doesn't hold lotteries

Nope, it's a scam. Just delete the email. Microsoft doesn't run a lottery. You didn't win anything. Sorry.

If you respond, the scammers will ask either for personal info so they can clean out your bank account, or more likely ask for a delivery fee or courier fee so they can deliver your prize - send them the money and you'll never hear from them again.

Three points here:

Firstly Microsoft do not hold lotteries.

Secondly, if you received an email saying that you won something then ask yourself "Did I enter a lottery or competition online?"

Thirdly, if you receive an email asking for any password, bank or other details, this is known as phishing and is illegal. Don't reply, just report it and/or delete it.

I hope this helps.

The best move is to validate the mail that you got by calling or getting in touch with microsoft corp. directly.

There are many bogus messages circulating in the internet and sms which tell you that you've won something but before you can get them, you have to provide personal information and to advance some fees.

If you have not approached them, it is spam. Never give your personal information over the internet-to anyone. Once you open the email, they know it is a legit address. You will be receiving lots more spam.
