Be honest. Is it unusual in a cool way, or unusual in a weird/bad way?

Thank you for your opinions.
I am aware of Steel Magnolias. =)
In fact, we are originally from the South, and I thought of this as sort of an homage.
I like the sound of the Madison/Madelyn names but those are wayyyy too common.

ALSO my husband's family is from the Philippines. Is this a popular Filipino name? I think it's a brand of Ice Cream there?

It's different. I don't like it, nor dislike it. If you like it, go for it!

I love the name...never would have imagined it being a name, but that doesn't mean it isn't great. I actually like Madison or Madelyn as middle names for Magnolia. I think they flow well together.

It's an English name....it hasn't broken the top 1000 name list since the 1930s.

Magnolia is a flower. Named after a guy. and somehow Milk of Magnesia comes up. I know this seasoning called Maggie. I ate it with all my food when I was a little kid. But Maggie sounds better than Magnolia. Kids will tease her and call her Magnet!

Magnolia is a good name.
My teacher is named Magnolia too and we sometimes call her Maggie. And the name Magnolia is creates executive ambitions, we emphasize that it causes an emotional intensity that is hard to control.

But if you are named magnolia, you have a generous side to your nature as well, and like to share what you have with others.

So I love the name...so is my teacher who is also a friend.

I don't like it at all.. It reminds me too much of Steel Magnolias the movie. Why not just use Maggie?

It's unusual in a weird way. If you want Maggie as a nickname try Megan (Meggie or Meg for the nickname). Good luck and congrats!

Ermm.. that name reminds me of the movie called "Steel Magnolias". I think it's a strong name for a baby girl. I like the name "Maggie" or "Abigail" better :-)

It is an ok name. But what happens when she grows up and hates magnolias because people keep giving it to her on her birthdays, and dates.
