What’s this 497 c section? Of which Act or Code? In which country? When ever you ask any question must mention the correct provision of law & location too. Any how for you information if your criminal case is relating to section 497 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 & it is registered in India & the charge sheet has been filed in the court, then you have to get a clean chit in this matter as this is a serious offence of Adultery where you can face imprisonment upto five years & fine. This criminal complaint can be taken by your employer as plea to suspend you & initiate a departmental inquiry against you. You may even get dismissed from your service if found guilty in the departmental inquiry irrespective what result you get from the court proceedings in the criminal complaint. During the period of suspension & departmental inquiry you will be eligible for half the salary only, if you are dismissed by the employer without initiating any departmental inquiry it will amount to infringement of principle of natural justice & if you happen to be in a public serve/government service it shall be clear violation of Article 311 of the Constitution. As far the result of the criminal complaint going in your favor can bring relief to you as then you have bright chance to get a positive result in the departmental inquiry & you can pray for your reinstatement if you have been dismissed from the service but that will be at the discretion of your employer who may or may not reinstate your services, but definitely by getting acquitted or discharged from the criminal complaint you don't get any bad remark on your character report. This is a brief legal opinion about your case & career.
