How many songs does a 2GB iPod nano hold? Everyone is telling me it holds one thousand, but the website says five hundred! What is the true answer?

It really depends on the length of the song. So maybe 1000 short songs or 500 songs double that length.

It all depends on the file size of the song...the website says 500 so you know it will hold at least that...any more is a bonus.

well i researched it, and it says that it holds 1,000 songs. what they dont tell you is that these songs were rated each at 2:45 and that each song was recorded with the lowest sound quality. So the real average amount is 550/600 at the normal 3:45/4:30 second average song.

Typically 500 songs. That also depends upon the rate of compression you use when the music is encoded. More compression = more file space (smaller file size).

if they were all high quality songs it will hold an average of 500 and if they were not that high quality it will hold an average of 1500,, and if it was a mix of both high and low quality files it could hold something in between.
