Typical white suburb- I was at a park today playing tennis and there was a group of black people playing basketball. I could sense a lot of tension between them and us. Like, they would look at the ppl playing tennis as if we were stupid and white. I could tell the people playing tennis kind of looked down at them, probably racist but also because they were making a lot of noise and smoking( I dont know if it was weed or cigars). Anyways, before they left, they threw their soda cups on the floor and kicked them all over, littering the park. After they left, It made me realize why this society is so separated (blacks and whites). Is this racial separation wrong though?

Whites and blacks never really been integrated in the first place. This country has a history of perverted ideas on race and the ideas still linger on today.

Maybe 50 years from now things will normalize among blacks and whites when they realize they live in a mostly latino country.

There is a certain enmity between the races in our society. Rather than "wrong", I would say "unfortunate".
complete integration would be a very good thing, but it will take more than our lifetimes at best. Really, we've only just begun. And it will take longer, and perhaps never come about if we spend any time arguing over "who's fault". We should toss that in the garbage can.

There's a difference between racism and realism. And yeah, people feel comfortable around people who are like themselves. We just do. When my son was small my best friend was African American. One day she and I were talking in the kitchen and the kids were playing on the floor and the T.V. was on. Whenever Black people came on the T.V., my friend's baby at 1 1/2 years old would stop playing and pay diligent attention until Whites came on again. Them he would ignore!

I think ppl naturally segregate themselves subconciously. I work with colleagues who are a mixture of black, white, & hispanic. Sometimes we go to luncheons & while we're all talking, laughing, & joking, somehow after we've sat down, I begin to look around the table and notice that one side of the table is brown.....the other side is white.

In order to truly integrate there is so much we would have to get past. Stereotypes, fear, ignorance are just a few examples.

what makes racial separation is the individuals who chose to be seperated from the other.people of all races can intermingle without a problem. if you see something that is done by another person of race that is uncomfortable with you, then remember that there are people of that race that have better morals and standards that make them unique and personable. a person is only what they project themselves to others around them.

Yes it is wrong, and the only difference between black and white is their skin, but their are whites that smoke, drink beer and litter, and any other nationality. we are all human.

One day, not in my lifetime, we will all get along. Right now, blacks presume whites are thinking or doing something racist. Whites assume blacks are thinking or doing something racist.
It truly is just that simple.
