Please attempt to assign a dollar value to life, and explain why you gave that amount.

Thanks.

In the modern world, value of own life is beyond calculation and value of other lives is not worth calculating.

In some of the third world countries, where corruption is blatantly prevalent, one can commit a murder and get away with paying as little as an equivalent of, say, $50000.

There is also this possibility of paying around $100000 equivalent to a professional killer to do the job...... killing for money is not at all an uncommon occupation for the underworld people.

There is yet another way of looking at it. An average life is around 70 years and the yearly spend to maintain it reasonably well is about $3000.... total value therefore is $210000. This would of course vary from country to country depending on the cost of living in terms of equivalent dollars.

I like this question... made me think up ways to calculate.

Dollar can by no means measure the value of human's life. But since we are living in this cruel material world you see many incidents where people get killed for mere reasons related to dollars. Some lose their life for millions of dollars while others lose it just for an amount you might spend on a Friday night.

You cannot put a dollar value on sombodys life even though many people try it is impossible. The value of somebodys life is so much greater than any number we have been able to come up with. The only person that can put a value on your life is the person who created you.

Priceless. Beyond infinity.

Why? Because each is unique- no other life will experience, process, understand, react, act, believe, feel or become in the same way that another will.

Genetics, environment, experiences, learning patterns..... we have our own place in the time/space continuum and our unique way of expressing who we are makes for a varied and continuous pattern in the tapestry we call life!

In economic terms it's about 29 cents per person.
Ie, dividing up all the money in the world and giving an equal share to everyone!
In emotional terms though, its priceless!

I don't believe human life has a monetary value. However, there is / used to be a site that tried to calculate it based on your traits.

One might also factor in how the legal field values human life. Juries often appear to award $1 million or more to family members who lost relatives through the fault of the plaintiff.
