do you always have to miss a period to be expecting

missing a period doesn't always mean that you are pregnant. It could be that your cycle is changing. However, if you are pregnant the body stops producing eggs so there will be no periods during pregnancy.

It's slightly uncommon to have periods while pregnant but it does occur. Spotting or very light flow is more normal than full-on periods.

I had a friend who had full periods for the first three months. She was floored when she found out she was pregnant!

We've all heard of those people who "really did have a period even during pregnancy".

Don't rule anything out as impossible but it's against all odds and highly unlikely.
