Umbrella...it is more versatile...good for the sudden rain or good for the damaging sun. Easy to carry too...I always have a lightweight folding one in my purse...a seasoned traveler doesn't leave home without it.

If i am just walking through the rain then an umbrella will do but if i must spend a lot of time in the rain or i need the use of both of my hands then a poncho or raincoat is best.

raincoats keep u warmer than an umbrella, but its kinda fun to have an umbrella in the rain. im pretty neutral, but most of the time i just walk in the rain

I like umbrella's better. I also enjoy hearing the rain hit my umbrella.
