I love to read Historical Romance Novels.
I read 2 or 3 a week and have kept a list since 1996, so I don't end up buying one that I have already read.
I like to read books that take me to another place, in another time.
The following are some of the books I like.
Mary Balogh
More than a Mistress
Simply Unforgettable
Slightly Married
Slightly Scandalous
Slightly Wicked
Johanna Lindsey
A loving Scoundrel
Jillian Hunter
The Love Affair of an English Lord
The Wedding Night of an English Lord
Christina Dodd
In My Wildest Dreams
My Fair Temptress
Lost in your Arms
Some Enchanted Evening
I check most of the books I read out of the local library.
Hope you enjoy.

1. I like mystery a lot.
2. I love adventure too!
3. I love historical fiction!!!
So which ones I prefer:
1. Historical Fiction
2. It's a tie! :D
Story ideas... look at your personal life. there's a lot of story material in your life that most people never realize. Good luck!
God Bless

I'm not a fan of mysteries. I do like old detective novels by Dashiell Hammett, but I find most contemporary mysteries to be derivative, and often, outright theft of older stories.
If I read adventure stories, it tends to be adult fantasy. I just ordered the opening Chronicles to the Dragonlance series; should be here by the weekend or next week.
I don't like historical fiction that is done ON PURPOSE. For example, Jane Austen cannot help but write period pieces, because she was simply writing about her time period. Which is fine. But those who try to refashion history in order to tell a story tend to fail, because someone will always come out and say, "That's not historically correct," etc.
I have plenty of ideas for a story, but I'll keep them to myself until they are finished. : )

I prefer humor stories out of all of those, as humor stories are most attractive to me, such as Andy Griffins' books. If I had to choose one out if 1), 2), and 3), I would choose 'Mystery'.
Secondly, I would choose 'adventure' after mysteries, but it's a hard decision because I like both historical fiction and adventure!

I prefer books that I can learn from, so it would have to be historical or self improvement based. An idea for a story would be to write about everything that you messed up in life and what a better approach to your life would have been. Then others could learn from your mistakes. You could call it, "Oops, I Did It Again!" (now you can learn from my mistakes).

All of the above. Pretty much anything but romance *well, any chick lit really*
As for story ideas, I'm working on the only good one I've had lately. *writer's block really does bite.*
