Guy above me. Hispanic is not a race. there is only three races. If you are thinking of Latino then that just falls into the category of Mixed.

and to the idiot who voted me down you learn that in 7th grade history

Hispanic is more geared to race. I don't hear, "I speak Hispanic" as much as "I speak Spanish".

White people or people of Caucasian origin may find this topic rather racist.

my bf's family is from Spain and they are "white" Spaniards. they identify with being Hispanic, but not Latino. In my travels, I come to learn the term "Ladino(with a "d") was used to call the African slaves sent to Spanish/Portuguese places in the Carribean, so you put it together...

hispanic (or Latino/Latina) can overlap with white, black, native/Indian, or combinations thereof (or even Asian, although that's not a common association).

the general concepts of "race" can be counterproductive sometimes to describing reality.
