Without a doubt... overall he's gonna end up with more hits that Pete Rose... Is a great defense of player.. has a absolute CANNON for an arm... Great speed.

He's one of the best players of all time in my opinion

To be certain, the organization is known as "The National Baseball Hall Of Fame and Museum", and its charter covers the great game as played within the confines, or binding international extensions, of this nation, the United States of America.

Japan has its own, independent, Baseball Hall Of Fame.

Strictly interpreted, when the time comes that Suzuki is a candidate on the Cooperstown Hall's ballot, his prior career in Japan should not be considered. That's not to say that some, perhaps even many, writers will not give his earlier years consideration. More to the point, though, I don't think his career in Japan will matter, as his career within MLB will be sufficiently overwhelming to earn him the plaque. But, we'll see.

He probably will be the first person honored in BOTH Halls.

first of all years ago the hall of fame made a decision to be a place where all baseball players that excell in the game can be remembered. that said not very many ( other than latin players ) have been included. i believe that sudaharo o is in the hall and to be honest that is about the only one i can think of. if ichiro is not inducted in the hall on the first ballot it would be the biggest snub, the most gross injustice, the most biggoted gesture in the history of sports... and i don't say that lightly. if you research ichiros stats in japan and then couple them with what hes done in his short time here you will find that they are jaw dropping. i was looking at them the other day and i don't have any to reference but i was BLOWN away at what this man has done in 15 years of professional baseball. all at the highest level i might add... never played minor league baseball. his stats are amongst the likes of ty cobb, dimagio, mays, stargell, babe ruth, ted williams. this man is amazing and a true treasure that we should cherish and appreciate every time he steps on to the field. and he's just a great all around person and spends a lot of his free time with kids in hospitals around the seattle area. a true and genuine hero in the purest sense of the world. he will be and should be in on the first ballott.

I wouldn't call Ichiro a shoe in. If he can keep the pace he's at until he's 40, then yes, he probably is.

Ichiro is already in the HoF for other reasons, but if he quits very soon, it would be hard to justify him into the HoF when people like Frank White (8 straight Gold Gloves) and Buck O'Neil (the greatest ambassador baseball will ever have) are not in it.

Is Ichiro on a HoF pace? Of course, but the HoF only recognizes those who have played in Major Leauge Baseball (with a few exceptions, ***** Leauges, etc.) but he needs to keep the pace to ensure he gets in. One major problem was his age when he first began with Seattle.

I think when it comes down to it, he'll get in, if not for his playing ability, than for his ability to be the first major Asian player to make a huge impact on the game.

I have a feeling Ichiro will be a first ballot HOF'er. Deservedly so.

If Bonds, McGwire, and Sosa make it into the Hall. Then it should be open for team mascots as well. Anything goes.

Ichiro can get in on is MLB numbers and influence alone. "Overall Contribution to the Game" is how HOF candidates are measured and Ichiro opened the door of Asian position players and dominated from day one.

No he prob wont' get in because he started too late in his career at like 27. Even though he'll be pretty close to three thousand hits, he won't go to the hall. and there are players in the hall that are not american...marichal, clemente, etc.
