No it doesn't. Have you done it? I did, it was so boring I had to walk away after like 5 minutes. When I came back a second later, it was boiling. I think water is just too shy to show off how hot it really is when someones watching.

Actually, technically, the kettle doesn't ever boil. I think the adage refers to what is in the kettle. for all you whits out there!

Yes, but it takes soooooooooo long! Well, okay, that is just because I am watching it and waiting for it to boil. But it seems like it takes sooooooooo long.

Yeah, yet once you're status there observing it, it sounds like eternity. that is extra effective to multitask. herald stuff to do to bypass time and fake you at the instant are not observing it. seems to take much less time. satisfied kettle observing. :o)
