Anyone born with the Sun in the 12th house will be painfully shy until they reach the age where the sun has progressed across the ascendant.
To figure a progression, take one day per year of age in your ephemeris. When the sun comes to the point that it crosses the ascendant, count the days, that will be how many years old you are at that time.
Also people born with all their 'personal' planets under the horizon - sun, moon, mercury, venus, mars are introverts. The sun alone below the horizon would not necessairly indicate that.
I'm a virgo and I am anything but shy. It's not so much the sign, but the position.

I don't think it has anything to do with the sign. I think it's just some people's personality. I have seen shy people from all signs.

pisces, shy but backstabbing, leo at times, very shy, insecure and virgo, shy in a weird way
alll of these can be outgoing at times if given the right scenario

they say those born with the sun under the horizon are introverts (and thus shy). but most typically I would say pisces, virgo, and possibly cancer.

I would say Leos and Virgos. I'm a Leo and I'm very shy.
