it is never easy to actually leave but once you do they usually dont go though with the threats.if you are really felling that scared make a police report and get a restraining order .....sen his a** to jail

my guess would be to cheat...or at least lie about cheating. Most people will just leave and never look back.
Otherwise, I would say just be straightforward make a clean break, and just be prepaired to change your phone # or e-mail if needbe...
