It's the height of hypocrisy.

Clinton granted 140 pardons on the last day of his presidency, most of which were bought and paid for through his wife.

Whether I agree or disagree with Clinton's disapproval of Bush granting Libby clemency is moot.

Every president has the power to grant clemency.

One of my ancestors, Henry Starr, a notorious bank robber, was pardoned twice by Theodore Roosevelt. Henry named his only son Theodore. My grandmother, a cousin of Henry, named one of her sons Theodore.

Personally, I don't believe Libby should have been granted clemency; but, then, I am not a relative of Libby, nor do I know the "complete" story of his crimes. I only know what was reported in the media.

The man who pardoned Mark Rich, the fugitive from justice should keep his mouth shut. Ditto for Jimmy Carter who has paraded around the world bad mouthing America, Israel, and president Bush. When Ike left office he said not a word about Kennedy changing and screwing up the Bay Of Pigs invasion or anything else Kennedy or Johnson did. The history channel said that Kennedy considered the invasion plans left over from the Eisenhour administration to be a risky scheme. They failed to mention that Ike had been in charge of the largest seaborn invasion in the history of the world June 6 1944 and there is no way he would have screwed up this little invasion like Kennedy and his advisors did. When Bush Sr. left office he said not a word about the foul deeds of the Clintons.

Its a complete joke! If I were the Clinton's I wouldn't have had much to say about it. Too bad people ask questions. I believe Bill Clinton pardoned his own brother and some terrorists in the last days of his presidency if I'm not mistaken.

I can see the anti-Clinton campaign attacks now. The whole Clinton administration nightmare is going to be revisited if she wins the dem nomination.

I think both clinton's are retarded, but Libby did illegal actions and he gets clemency for being a good friend of bush

Clinton didn't grant clemency to Webb Hubbell in a middle of an indictment once he was sentenced even though Hubbell was under all kinds of pressure to give up something on the Clintons. To this day Webb Hubbell is a convicted felon.

Bush is interfering in an ongoing investigation and that is obstruction of justice and abuse of power. The same thing that did Nixon in.

I think presidential pardons are subject to debate. Clinton has also pardon many people who should have gone to jail. I believe that presidential pardons are against the American democratic system; in fact, they should only be used under special circumstances which is not the case for most pardons.

No, after the only difference between Clinton and Bush is that Clinton waited until the very end of his Presidency to release his partners in crime.

Typical of someone like you to consider everything else way worse than potentially jeopardizing national security, and helping promote falsehoods that have killed over 3000 Americans.

Bush pardoned Libby, so Libby wouldn't sell him out while sitting in a prison cell, which tends to happen when a guy has enough time to think about things, and come to the conclusion that someone else should be there is his place.

Of course not. Clinton shouldn't talk. The rest of America should though.

And it is a very immature argument to say "well Clinton pardoned too, so what Bush is doing is completely alright"
