What I really want to know is why every choice a person makes plays some kind of part to feeding into one's self-esteem? Why do we as a whole feel the need to be something, or someone that we truly are not? What drives the average person to seek the feeling of being so important? Or so insignificant that they have their life worst then everyone else? Because it seems to me that every choice big or small is soull made based on how it makes us feel. All comments welcome!!

Altho self-esteem is stressed..ALOT of people don't have it!

Maybe you've been blessed with feeling great about yourself all the time..

But for many..HAVING high self-esteen MEANS:

1) having confidence in you're life(not just how you look..but you're confidence in how you handle your life/decisions)

2)Loving yourself!!

ALOT of women deal with learning to love themselves BECAUSE we not only have pressure from MEN who think ONLY THIS kind of woman is sexy..and having to deal with the fact that we ARE NOT THOSE WOMEN...But also, we have to deal with WOMEN who think that we should look like THIS person..who we are NOT EITHER!!

Self-esteem is important b/c people please EVERYONE ELSE most of there life..whether it be hiding you're gay, hiding where you were born, hiding your race, dressing a certain way to be popular in school..whatever..THAT'S all b/c they don't LOVE WHO THEY ARE!

So..that's NOT being selfish..it's about ACCEPTING the person you are even if the majority DOESN'T because at the end of the day YOU have to deal with YOU!

And living for someone else WILL never bring you true happiness!

Everyone hides behind the viel of social acceptance!!

Excellent question! I give you a standing ovation!

I am imperfect and at times react or act to any given situation because of my background and life situation and my own personal need for validation.

I have been told that I am selfless and do things for others(when someone finds out about it) because of how it will make THEM feel about themselves.

So in my weaker moments, it is more about me. And in my stronger and better moments, it is all about you.
