I have never understood why people have to show them off! Is it a sign they're willing to get laid or something?

I think hickeys are immature and gross because it is tacky nobody needs to know what you are doing. Hickeys does have something to do with a mark of ownership.

They are a sign of immaturity and insecurity. It's stupid to give them, and they are stupid to display like some kind of badge of honor. They are not cool. I never was impressed by hickeys.
