Anyone who has ever made a backpack?

Can anyone tell me the basics to making a backpack or show me a website that has a pattern? I'm looking into making my own.

Oh. Kind of like the backpacks that look somewhat similar to the Jansport brand backpacks...if possible.

I haven't found any online patterns for Jansport type backpacks. There are some good ones in the pattern books at the fabric stores. If you can't find good nylon fabric like the Jansport backpacks use, you can buy quilted fabric or make your own. You might want to post a "want it now" in eBay for a good pattern, or keep checking the listings.

I made a quilted one for a vacation in Hawaii. I used Hawaiian fabric and quilted it with batting in the middle. It held up real well.
