I was wondering when a president talks about things like abortion and the death penalty if the big issues are actually there own opinions or are the safe opinions or opinions most widely heald? Any insight? I am also curious what Obama and Clintons takes are on big issues such as abortion and others? Thanks for your answers

I think that most of the Dumb answers that they give aren't even theirs so in my point of view having you own mind is pointless in government.

I think it depends on the Candidate. I think for the most part they believe what they say but I think there are cases where they just take a position to get elected. If a Democratic candidate every came out and said they were pro-life, they could probably never get elected. Giuliani is pro-choice and may actually have a chance to win the Republican nomination. I think people respect that at least he has not changed his position on the issue.
