First of all homosexual sex is 100% safe when both are healthy, while heterosexual sex has alway a rest risk for pregnancy even if that is very very small with good bith control. Many boys feel attraced to the same gender at 12 / 13 (also earlier) and many of them switch to the other gender later. It's a matter of rights and self determination, good education and open talking about sexuality and relationships with kids. Not patronizing with force. This way they want to be safe by themselves. Consent means people having a good time together, knowing what they are doing. Abusive relationships can still be and are open to prosecution (upon complaint). Do you prefer "honor killings"? Some teens prefer someone older to someone same age. Relationships like that can also have a very positive influence on a teenager. It depends on the individual case. Many decide to wait for the right partner, they don’t rush to have sex at any age, nobody is forced to have anything. But the natural urge to be sexually active in some way doesn’t start at 16. For many (most) that is way earlier. Especially boys want to live out their sexuality. Can be 100% safe with the same gender when both are healthy. Don’t push your personal taste or ideology on others with force. That’s what a totalitarian regime does. Did you make bad experiences? Couldn’t you decide for yourself? So your parents were to scared to get their mouth open to talk with you about sexuality and relationships in an objektive way? Insufficient sex ed in school? Totalitarian abstinence only ed which sure fails? Sex offender registrations filled with persons from a consenting, safe relationship are sad, hysterical and nuts. Open compromising like in the middle age. Do you Americans have these lists for violent offenders, too, or just for sex?

It seems really too young. A person's personality & world views aren't at all fully formed yet. I think it's wrong in any country or religion. As a 13yr old, I didn't know half of what I knew at 20!

I don't think we should describe countries as Catholic, Christian, or non-Christian.
Reasons:
- Catholicism (and Christianity) transcends nationality.
- Is everyone a Catholic (or Christian) in a Catholic (or Christian) country? Probably not.
- Does the Catholic (or Christian) country only have laws based on Catholicism (or Christianity)? Probably not.
- I believe in freedom of religion. There would not be freedom of religion in a Catholic (or Christian) country.
Can you name one country that is truly Catholic (or Christian) (not counting Vatican City)?

not necessarily. You can get married in DILLON, SC., at 16, without Your parents consent and, 13, with it.
I don't know the percentage of catholics there, though.

its a bit strange to have such a low age when most of the world is around 16. why do you feel the need to distinguish its the same for homosexuals? sex is sex it doesn't matter who you are doing it with.

At that age you're way to young and immature. You should be given a chance to grow up first. Besides childhood is way to short.

No, 13 is not as young as we make it to be. People forget how young we hit puberty.
